Davis Monthan AFB Info, the Boneyard, Units, Services

Davis Monthan AFB is a key Air Combat Command installation with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), Air Force Fighter Pilot units, and the Davis Monthan AFB Boneyard of retired aircraft set aside for parts. The Davis Monthan AFB Lodging Facility’s Visiting Airmen Quarters (VAQ), Visiting Officer Quarters (VOQ), and Temporary Living Facility (TLF), known as the Inn on Davis Monthan can issue non-availability for Service Members and Airmen to seek off Base Housing at Tucson Hotels or Extended Stay Hotels in the Tucson, AZ area. Much of the Davis Monthan AFB Lodging is either on Base at the Inn on Davis Monthan, although many Airmen on TDY prefer to live on the economy and stay in Tucson Corporate Housing, Tucson Hotels, or Furnished Apartments in Downtown Tucson or close to the University of Arizona.

Generally base housing is limited to permanent party Airmen on PCS orders to Davis Monthan AFB. Lodging and short term temporary living quarters off base are an option if on a Temporary Duty (TDY) assignment to Davis Monthan, so most Airmen prefer to find furnished house rentals and apartments in Tucson. If on PCS orders, a Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) authorization may be granted to live on base for a short period of time, but most travelers may choose to stay in an extended stay hotel while receiving dislocation allowance during their allotted time for apartment or house hunting upon arrival to the base.  For official military and government travelers on TDY assignment orders the best option may be to stay in one of our Tucson hotels near base or extended stay suites near Davis Monthan, and for longer term assignments we have other options including corporate housing, apartments, and condos close to the base.
