Edwards Air Force Base Information & Units

Edwards AFB is the USAF Flight Test Center AFFTC located in the heart of the Mojave Desert in California.  Both the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center and the USAF Test Pilot School use this remote location, state of the art facilities, and open airspace to conduct historical aviation breakthroughs.   As a National Historic Monument,  virtually every military aircraft has at least partially been tested at Edwards AFB.  This is the site of Chuck Yeager's famous flight in the Bell X-1 to break the sound barrier.  Edwards AFB is just over 120 miles from Los Angeles California.
